2009 Nomination Form

Last Mile needs your nomination of an extraordinary community that is deploying broadband to close the digital gap. These Smart Communities will be featured in early 2009 issue of Last Mile and awards will be presented at the 2009 Digital City EXPO. Two communities will win the award, one with less than 200,000 population and one with more than 200,000. Please supply the following information for your nominees for the Smart Community Award. You may be contacted for more information needed to process this nomination.

Municipalities will be judged on the following:

  • Enabling ubiquitous broadband access
  • Furthering economic development objectives
  • Enhancing public safety/education
  • Employing innovative solutions in network deployment and application
  • Fostering community involvement

Deadline for all nominations is Dec. 15, 2008.
