Here's a strange use for Wi-Fi: Keeping sex workers safe.
The Aphrodite Project hooks up Wi-Fi and GPS technology to women's platform shoes to help keep them safe ... I guess ... or ... erm ... in line? Online? Ah, forget it.
As a runner, I've checked out the Nike + iPod, which plugs you into your music, stopwatch and GPS so you can can listen to music, stay on pace and keep track of your route. But keep track of sex workers? That's kind of just, well, just consider this your strange Friday at 5 p.m. news.
Have a good weekend readers.
